Primary Responsibilities
Prepare personal and corporate tax returns
Prepare trust income tax returns for deceased individuals and final income tax return
Research tax issues
Handling CRA reviews/audits
Prepare income tax returns from accounting records
Communication with tax authorities on behalf of clients (CRA and RQ)
Communication with clients, ensuring all inquiries are answered
Secondary Responsibilities
Assist with bookkeeping engagements for clients (QBO/Sage)
Reconcile accounts
Post journal entries
Assess the quality of the presentation of the financial statements
Prepare notes to the financial statements
Prepare reports and audit findings
Examine accounting records
Analyze financial documents and reports
Ensure accuracy and compliance to accounting standards procedures and internal control
Candidate profile
2+ years of relevant experience
Diploma or degree with a focus on accounting
Experience with tax software
Have Personal and Corporate tax experience
Have trust income tax experience
Must be adept in Microsoft office
Experience with accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, and CaseWare
French language skills would be an added advantage
Strong communication and customer service skills
Works well in a team and individually
Must be willing to travel to client location
